About Us
Theodore Spordilis, a third-generation member of a family in the hospitality sector, took over the torch from his father Vanias Spordilis in 1983 and began running the Kyma Hotel. Vanias Spordilis had purchased the "To Kyma" villa in the 1960s and converted it into a hotel. As a member of a family engaged in hotel management, Theodore has always been service-oriented, and with the experience he has gained today, he ensures that his guests feel at home. The excursion programs he plans for his guests, his recommendations for lovely restaurants off the tourist track, and the always-ready fresh coffee and tea make your holiday unforgettable.
Theodore met Guher and they married in 1999. Realizing that being a chemical engineer would not be of much use in hotel work, Guher completed travel guiding courses in Turkey and became a licensed professional tour guide. Since the Kardamyla Hotel was closed during the winter months, the family worked at the Kyma Hotel, but when the high season began, Guher started working at the Kardamyla Hotel. Theodore is Greek and Guher is from Izmir, Turkey, so their relationship was not one of the easiest in the world, but they still feel they did the right thing in finding each other and remain firmly committed to one another. In 2004 Ayla joined the family, and in 2010 Vanias did, and now the four of them are firmly bonded together.
