ÇEŞME PORT – VOYAGE TO CHIOS ISLAND
In the morning at 07:00 we meet at the check-in office at the entrance of the Çeşme Customs Port.
After completing our tickets, passports and customs procedures, we take our seats on the fast catamaran.
Departing from Çeşme Port at 08:00, we begin an enjoyable voyage of approximately 30 minutes amid the blues of the Aegean Sea.
Upon arrival at Chios Port, we complete our passport and entry procedures and meet our guide who is waiting for us.
We then set off to explore the historic villages in the southern part of the island.
ARMOLIA VILLAGE – TRADITIONAL CERAMIC ART AND MASTIC TREES
Our first stop is Armolia Village, famous for the traditional ceramic and pottery art of Chios Island.
Known for its centuries-old handicraft tradition, Armolia welcomes visitors with its ceramic workshops and distinctive village life.
During our short visit to the village, we have the opportunity to closely get to know traditional ceramic products.
Seeing the mastic trees that have become the symbol of the region, we receive information from our guide about the natural environment where the world-famous mastic gum is grown.
MESTA VILLAGE – IN THE STONE STREETS OF THE MIDDLE AGES
After our visit to Armolia, we head to Mesta Village, one of the best-preserved medieval settlements on Chios Island.
With its stone houses built adjacent to each other for defensive purposes, and its narrow passages and labyrinth-like streets, Mesta takes its visitors back in time.
While exploring the historic fabric of the village, we closely examine the traditional architecture and enjoy a pleasant walk through the stone streets.
Accompanied by our guide, we see the Taksiarchis Church, one of the village's important structures, and take a coffee break in the historic square.
We have free time to take photographs in Mesta's unique atmosphere and observe village life.
PYRGI VILLAGE – HOUSES ADORNED WITH GEOMETRIC PATTERNS
Our next stop is Pyrgi, one of the most striking villages on Chios Island.
The most important feature that distinguishes Pyrgi from other settlements is the black-and-white geometric patterns decorating the exterior walls of its houses.
Created with a traditional decorative technique called Ksista, these patterns give the village a distinctive appearance.
Accompanied by our guide, we stroll through the village's historic streets, learn about traditional architecture, and take photo stops.
We have the opportunity to closely experience Pyrgi's colorful village life and historic atmosphere.
LUNCH BY THE SEASIDE
After our tour of the South Island, we provide free time for lunch at a taverna located by the sea.
