About Us
Theodore Spordilis, the third-generation representative of his family in the hotel industry, took over the reins from his father, Vanias Spordilis, in 1983 and began running Kyma Hotel. Vanias Spordilis had purchased the "To Kyma" villa in the 1960s and converted it into a hotel. As a member of a family involved in hospitality, Theodore has always been service-oriented, and with the experience he has gained over the years, he ensures that his guests feel at home. The excursion programs he plans for his guests, his recommendations for beautiful, non-touristy restaurants, and the fresh coffee and tea that are always ready make your holiday unforgettable.
Theodore met Guher, and they married in 1999. Realizing that being a chemical engineer would not be very useful in the hospitality industry, Guher completed travel guide courses in Turkey and became a licensed professional tour guide. Since Kardamyla Hotel was closed during the winter months, the family worked at Kyma Hotel, but when the high season began, Guher started working at Kardamyla Hotel. As Theodore is Greek and Guher is from Izmir, Turkey, theirs was not one of the easiest relationships in the world, but they still believe they did the right thing by finding each other and remain deeply devoted to one another. Ayla joined the family in 2004 and Vanias in 2010, and now the four of them are closely bonded.
